Retail Signage

Moosejaw's Retrogression campaign, an homage to 80s and early 90s pop culture, lived vividly in catalog and web through nostalgic props like VHS players, word processors, and brick-style cell phones, but none of that visual language had a physical presence in stores. Standard flat signage couldn't carry the tactile, object-driven nostalgia the campaign was built on. Creative direction shaped a large-scale, fully three-dimensional cassette tape sign for retail locations, an approach uncommon among retailers, translating the campaign's retro concept into a physical centerpiece that echoed the catalog and web elements without duplicating them directly. The sign gave the campaign a tangible in-store anchor, extending Retrogression's identity beyond the page and screen into something customers could see and stand in front of. The result was a distinctive, immersive retail environment that set the campaign apart from typical in-store executions and gave Retrogression a physical presence no other Moosejaw campaign had attempted.
